Happy Thursday lovely people! I have been getting tons and tons of requests from you guys asking for some home sneak peeks, so I decided to give you all a little one of our new living room! As many of you know, last Friday was FINALLY move in day for us!! Already, we have been so happy living here and the 10 month long remodel is feeling worth it. One positive of our move in date getting pushed back again and again is how much time it gave us to pre-buy some furniture and decor so that right when we moved in it would start feeling like home instead of an empty box, which is originally what we thought would happen. I am a huge fan of patterns, as you can tell by my choice in decor, so I was beyond happy when Al agreed to making our living room pattern-ville. *Side note*, fun fact about Al and I, is when we first started dating, and even when we first purchased this house, our personal home style desires were complete opposites. He loves metals and woods and very industrial cool "Restoration Hardware" feel homes, and I wanted every single thing in my whole house white. I'm so boring, haha. I also didn't take into consideration the fact that we had a dark colored dog who is always getting into trouble, and that someday when we have babies, white would be our worst nightmare. With all that being said, we would spend day after day on sites like Pinterest and Houzz looking for styles that we wanted our home to be. We finally settled on a style I had never even heard of called scandinavian, or scandi, which is pretty much lots of black, white, and gray, lots of prints, and lots of greenery. So this is kind of the vibe we settled on but giving it our own personal touches and twists of course.
ANYWAYS, our living room is not done yet, but it's getting there and we have found such fun pieces to make it our own that I wanted to share with you guys! Some favorites of our guests so far have definitely been our poufs, found here and here. We love our acrylic nesting tables because our living room is a smaller space, and this allows it to visually appear more open! And they show off our rug, which was BY FAR my absolute favorite thing we ordered!! I found it, and had to have it. Last thing I'll touch on is our sofa, there are about 4 of these exact couches in the Lang Family and for good reason!! It comes in tons of shapes and sizes, is one of the most comfy couches I have ever sat on, and the material of it makes it stain resistant!! So many reasons to add this sofa to your life. We got it in the color Nickel. You can find all of these things below the images as well our throw pillows and little table decor! Frenchie not included ;)
As we get more settled in, I'll be sure to bring more 'home' content to the blog and also photos that aren't taken on my iPhone, sorry about that on this post...camera is still packed away. Let me know if there is anything home related you would like to see or for me to touch on! Hope you are all having a great day and week! Xx, Karlie
